STUDENT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

About the Program

The Student Sponsorship Program is a program designed to provide a no-cost education for the students of Nava School while putting them in contact with loving, caring people who will encourage and inspire them to do their best in school. Most of these children come from difficult backgrounds and having someone to motivate them could make all the difference. The cost is $30 a month per student and will provide everything your student needs to attend school.

What do I receive?

After signing up to sponsor a student, you will receive, within 4-6 weeks, an initial introduction packet with information about the student you are sponsoring, a letter from your student, and a picture of him or her. You will also receive two updates per year from your student that will include an updated photo. Additionally, sponsors have the opportunity to write and receive letters from their sponsored student.

Your Impact

Sponsoring a student at Nava School will serve as an amazing encouragement for that child. It will give them access to:

-Loving Learning Environment

TRADE CLASSES

About the Classes

In 2016, we began classes geared towards the parents of the students at Nava School. Many of the adults in the town of Nava have only a basic elementary education and lack knowledge of a trade that would allow them to work and support their family. We aim to equip these adults by giving them workshops and classes adapted specifically for them and the area that they live in and, once having completed the course, assisting in finding job options for each member of the class. We began with sewing classes for the mothers of the students at Nava School, teaching the basics of sewing and how to make simple items such as aprons. Our objective is to expand the courses that we offer, having classes available for men and women covering several different vocational areas.

How can I Help?

There are many different ways in which you can be involved in our trade classes. If you feel specifically led to donate to a certain class, you may do that. Another way you can get involved is by donating material. We will be doing regular updates on social media as well as our website about the different classes we will be offering. If you have tools or material that you think may be of assistance for a particular course, please contact us and we will figure out how to get those items from you.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

About the Program

Our College Sponsorship Program is a program that we begin in 2015. The goal of this program is to help determined, hardworking young people who do not have the means to attend college and offer them a full college scholarship in exchange for working and using their talents and skills at Nava School. The program began with a Gastronomy student named Luis. In return for his scholarship, he runs the feeding program at Nava School. He is using the knowledge and tools that he is learning in school to serve the students at the school. We hope to give these students the financial support that they need to get a college degree while giving them the opportunity to give back to and serve their community.

What do I receive?

After signing up to sponsor a college student, you will receive, within 4-6 weeks, an initial introduction packet with information about the college student you are sponsoring, a letter from your student, and a picture of him or her. You will also receive two updates per year from your student that will include an updated photo and information about how they are progressing in their studies. Additionally, sponsors have the opportunity to write and receive letters from their sponsored student as well as keep in touch electronically through email.

Your Impact

Sponsoring a college student will give him or her the opportunity to study the career of their choice. It will provide them with:

-College Education

-Books

-School Supplies

-Transportation

MISSIONS

About Hands and Feet Missions

Hand and Feet Ministries has been facilitating short-term mission trips for churches, schools, families, and individuals since 2000. These trips provide an opportunity for Christians to share the love of Christ by serving individuals that have been effected by poverty, sickness, abandonment, and natural disasters. Currently we are offering trips to Piedras Negras and Nava Mexico.

Where We Serve

Hands and Feet Ministries has been serving in Piedras Negras, Mexico since 2000. God has provided us with many long-term relationships in Piedras Negras, and has allowed us to be part of many projects, outreach and evangelism in the city. Since 2009, the majority of our work is has been done in the small town of Nava, Mexico located 20 miles south of Piedras Negras where we operate a tuition-free Christian elementary school.

Construction

We have plans to continue and grow Nava School and small construction projects are continually being done to improve the school. We also work on construction projects partnering with other local ministries. Mission groups from all over the United States work together to complete these projects. You will be assigned a construction project according to your group size and skill level.

Outreach

A large part of your experience will be different forms of outreach sharing the love of Christ with the people of Mexico. We will visit local orphanages including a special needs orphanage. Sharing God’s word with the children through traditional VBS, sports camps and clinics. You will have an opportunity to help feed the hungry at a local soup kitchen and do street evangelism. We also facilitate medical clinics and adult education. We can tailor the outreach to meet your group’s skills and passions.

Food and Lodging

All meals are prepared by our local professionally trained staff and we can accommodate most dietary restrictions with prior notice. Safe drinking water will always be provided. Accommodations are in a safe and secure gated community with separate men’s and women’s bunkhouses and bathrooms.

Fun and Sightseeing

You will have the opportunity to visit the local Mexican market to shop for authentic souvenirs. We will also visit the Macroplaza one evening where you will have the opportunity to interact with the locals, see the sites, and sample Mexican street food.

Cost

$550 per person children 8 and under $250. This does not include the cost of transportation to and from Mexico or transportation while in Mexico.
